UK players win eSports tournament!
Two UK players, Spratt and WarsZ, have won the grand final of the KFC Royale Call of Duty: Blackout tournament, with WarsZ bagging up £15,000 from the £50,000 prize pot and Spratt claiming a lifetime supply of KFC.
The competition took place on February 24th where 16 teams went head to head to fight for the winning title. The rest of the prize money was shared amongst the remaining community members.
KFC teamed up with Activision and Call of Duty to run the event and have said that more than 20,000 people watched the live final online.
Spratt commented saying: "From watching my future duo battle it out in the qualifiers, to the hours of practice we put in after, I was confident we could put up a good fight.
"Running through the winners' bracket and clutching up the grand finals was an unreal feeling. £15k and a lifetime supply of KFC at the end of it all? Well, that's just the cherry on top.
WarsZ added: "I'm speechless, to be honest. The fact I even got into something like this is mind-blowing. The prize is one thing, but I think the main thing is meeting all of these new people who I've always wanted to meet. I've made some awesome friends and I can't wait to see what comes next. This tournament made my dream come true!"
